Kelly C. Hyke
Owner / Funeral Director and Embalmer / Spink County Coroner
Kelly grew up in Bowman, North Dakota. After graduating from Bowman High School in 1986, he attended Bismarck State College and received an associate of Arts degree. In 2000, Kelly attended and received his degree in Mortuary Science from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago, Illinois. After graduating in 2001, he returned to Beulah, North Dakota where he was employed by Seibel Funeral Homes.
Kelly, his wife Bonnie and their children, Megan and Adam, moved to Redfield and started working for Thelen Funeral Home on June 1, 2006. On December 1, 2015, Kelly and Bonnie purchased the funeral home from Pat Thelen.
Kelly is a licensed funeral director in both North and South Dakota and is a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church where he is a Eucharistic Minister and sings in the church choir. He is currently the President of District 4 for the South Dakota Funeral Directors Association.
Kelly is very active in the community serving as Unit Commissioner for Sioux Council Boy Scouts of America. He currently serves on the Troop Committee as chairman and has served as Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 128 and is a member of the Redfield Kiwanis and the Redfield Knights of Columbus.
Bonnie grew up in Alexander, Manitoba, Canada and moved to the U.S. when she married Kelly Hyke. Kelly, Bonnie and their children, Megan and Adam, moved to Redfield in June 2006.
When Kelly and Bonnie purchased the funeral home in December of 2015, Bonnie worked at the funeral home around her full-time job at Redfield High School. In June 2016, she began working at the funeral home full-time.
Gabby works full-time as a funeral director/embalmer intern. Gabby grew up in the Redfield area and graduated from Redfield High School. She is a 2017 graduate of Northern State University in Aberdeen with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with minors in Business and Gerontology.
Gabby began a program in Mortuary Science in October of 2017. She works with us in all aspects of funeral directing and embalming as she studies to become fully licensed in the state of South Dakota as a Funeral Director/Embalmer.
Brent started working at the funeral home in August 2013
as a funeral assistant.
Brent is a 1991 graduate of Redfield High School and a 1995
alumni of Northern State University. Brent, and his wife Michelle, reside in
Redfield with their four sons: Bennett, Owen, Peyton and Camden.

Center, Redfield Baseball Association, and as a youth baseball coach. He is
also an agent for DeSmet Farm Mutual Insurance and Redfield Realty.
Brent also serves as a Spink County Deputy Coroner.
Marleen started working at the funeral home in March of 2016 as a part-time Office and Funeral Assistant. Marleen previously spent 40 years as an emergency 9-1-1 dispatcher and had worked at the Spink County Sheriff’s office since 1996. She served as the chief dispatcher for the last several years before retiring at the end of 2015. Marleen and her husband James have been very active in the community of Redfield.
Dale started working at Hyke Funeral Home in 2016 on a casual basis. Dale taught instrumental music at Redfield Public School for 33
years. After retiring from teaching, he was employed at the Eastern Star Home
for seven years before retiring in May of 2017. He has been active in several community organizations.
Connie started working at Hyke Funeral Home in 2016 on a casual basis. Connie retired in May 2017 from the Eastern Star Home where she
was the Business Manager-Assistant Administrator for the past 21 years. Connie
and her husband Dale moved to Redfield in May 1977. They have 1 son.
Transportation Specialist / Spink County Deputy Coroner
Frank Krumm is on-call for the funeral home as a transportation specialist and Deputy Coroner. He is a retired member of the South Dakota Highway Patrol and works full-time for the United States Postal Service.
Frank and his wife, Sue, enjoying spending time with their children and grandchildren.
