Coreen Wagner, 50, of Harrisburg, SD, passed away Friday, June 8, 2018 at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls. Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Redfield. Reverend Tammy Toepke-Floyd will officiate. Following lunch and fellowship, burial will follow at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Frankfort, SD.
Visitation will be Tuesday, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield. Family will be present during this time to accept condolences. A prayer service and time for sharing will begin at 7:00 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home (www.hykefuneralhome.com).
Coreen Marie Wagner was born January 1, 1968 in California to John and Carol (Dickhaut) Troutner. The family moved to Redfield, SD where Coreen attended school her freshman year before moving to Alaska. She graduated from high school in Wasilla, AK and then attended college in Anchorage, AK where she received her Associate’s Degree in Accounting.
Coreen married David James in Anchorage and they resided in both Alaska and Arizona as David served with the U.S. Air Force. Later, Coreen married Brian Wagner and they resided in Redfield where they enjoyed the lake and boating.
Throughout her life, Coreen held a variety of jobs which included owning a “Curves” fitness center; managing an apartment complex; and running a resale business. Painting rocks for others to enjoy was a favorite pastime. Coreen loved to travel and her favorite destination was Mexico. She spent time camping and crafting but had a fondness for quilting. She had a talent for finding great deals at garage and clearance sales and will be lovingly remembered for her family-famous saying, “2 hours or $200.00!” when shopping.
Her family will continue to treasure the memories of Coreen’s caring, funny, generous, witty, and happy personality. She was always supportive of her family and loved them very much. She was passionate about her role as a grandma and if possible, would have spent every waking moment with her grandchildren.
Coreen is survived by her father, John (Suzanne) Troutner of Palmer, AK; son, Eric (Tara) James of Sioux Falls; daughter, Tawny Wagner of Harrisburg; son, Anthony Wagner of Redfield as well as her grandchildren: Deklen Conn; Braleigh James and Aurora Conn. She is also survived by her sisters: Tammy (Rod Brownlee) Neuharth of Ida Grove, IA; Cindy (John) Shine of Redfield and Kim (Nicki Moch) Diesterhaft of Aberdeen; and her brothers: Chris Crager of Grand Forks, ND; and Josh (Tracey) Crager of Lexington, KY. Her niece and nephews also survive: Amber (Bob) Herman of Bingham Lake, MN; Johnny Shine of Aberdeen; Jacob Diesterhaft and Reese Diesterhaft, both of Sioux Falls; Chris Shine and Daniel Shine, both of Redfield. She will also be missed by many uncles, aunts and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother Carol (Glen) Carr.
