Jeannine Anderson, 86, of Redfield, SD, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2019 at the Eastern Star Home. In accordance with Jeannine’s wishes, she will be cremated and a family service of remembrance will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home. Jeannine Faye (Brugger) Anderson was born July 2, 1932 to Jesse and Martha (Zibell) Brugger in Tulare, S.D. She grew up on a farm and graduated from Tulare High School in 1950. Following graduation, she worked at the Tulare Locker. She married Lennart Anderson on June 17, 1956. They farmed southeast of Redfield and had three children Monte, Shannon, and LaRee. Jeannine was very active in all aspects of farm life and was a 4-H leader. Jeannine moved to Redfield in 1979 and worked in the bakery & deli at Siegling’s Super Valu for 15 years. She was a Foster Grandparent for 14 years until “retiring” in 2017 and especially enjoyed working at the Redfield Public School with 1st graders. She sold her house on Redfield lake in 2018 and moved into the Eastern Star Home assisted living unit in March of 2018 and then into the nursing home in December of 2018.
Jeannine was most passionate about agriculture and education. She enjoyed flowers and plants and the world of agriculture and loved to talk on those subjects and take rides in the country to watch the crops grow. She also enjoyed attending auction sales and collecting antiques, especially various glassware. She was a very determined and hardworking person her whole life and was respected as someone who always wanted to accomplish and improve things. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Redfield and spent many volunteer hours working at the church.
Grateful for having shared in her life are her children: Monte (Sheila) Anderson of Spangle, WA; Shannon (Ted) Williams of Redfield; LaRee (Tal) Farnham of Elkton; four grandsons: Dustin (Traci Samelson) Waldner and son Weston of Redfield; Nathan (Felicia) Anderson of Seattle, WA; Austin (Tessa Stoltenberg) Farnham of Sioux Falls; Trevan Farnham of Sioux Falls; her sister MaryAnn Schone of Redfield; two nieces Terri Kjellsen of Groton and Jennifer Dirk of Fargo, ND; two nephews Brian Schone of Tulare and Troy Fountain of Minnetonka, MN. Also part of her family were step-grandsons Chad, Ryan (Rashmi, Addie & Ellie), and Brent (Ingrid, Eliza & Georgia) Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister and brother-in-law Beverly and George Fountain, her brother-in-law Clyde Schone, and step-grandson Chad Williams.
