Maxine Corrine (Corum) Steffen, 79, of Redfield, SD passed away at the Redfield Community Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 29, 2018 at the Redfield Wesleyan Church. Pastor Josh Kendrick will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield. Lunch and fellowship will take place at the church after the committal service.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 5:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield. Hyke Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements (www.hykefuneralhome.com).
Maxine Corrine Corum was born October 28, 1938 in Webster, SD to Claude Corum and Grace (Good) Corum.
Maxine enjoyed spending time with her family, who were very important to her. She was known as “Grandma Max” or “Mom” to many. She will be remembered for her many years of daycare service and taking anyone in who needed a place to be!
She is survived by her son, Mick Steffen (Suzie Evans) of Redfield, her daughter, Monica (Jeff) Porter of Redfield; her grandchildren: Chad Steffen of Redfield, Karl Kalinowski of Omaha, NE, Nicolette Meadows of Houston, TX, Timothy (Amanda) Steffen of Avon, SD; and her great-grandchildren: Piper and Owen, of Avon, SD. Maxine is also survived by her sister, Beverly (Gary) Golden of Council Bluffs, IA, her brother, Glen (Betty) Corum of Forest Lake, MN, and special family members: Audrey Robinson, Stacy Sobbing and her daughter, Jacy, of Council Bluffs, IA.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Grace Corum, her husband, Maynard Steffen, and her son, Mark Steffen.
