Oscar Magnus Solheim was born August 28, 1929, on the farm where he grew up, to Leif and Jennie (Bruins) Solheim.  He attended country school and completed his high school education at Frankfort High School in 1947.  He was active in high school and alumni basketball.  He attended one year at Huron College and had a strong desire to continue his college education but was needed on the farm.  With the experience he gained, he successfully established his own family farming operation.

On December 5, 1951, Oscar wed Bernice Woodfork at the United Methodist Church in Doland, SD.  They resided in Redfield and rural Frankfort before moving to their residence south of Frankfort where he resided until his death.  Oscar was passionate about farming.  He went south to custom combine in his early years and shelled many bushels of corn for area farmers.

Family was most important to Oscar.  He loved every minute of watching his children and grandchildren at their sporting events.  Every year, he looked forward to hanging up his Christmas display.  He also enjoyed bowling, dancing, slow pitch softball, and watching the Minnesota Twins and Timberwolves.

Oscar was active in the community by serving on many boards including Wheat Growers, BASEC, church, and Frankfort Township.

Oscar is survived by his wife of 67 years, Bernice; three daughters:  Sandra Solheim of Redfield; Peggy (Doug) Boomsma of Frankfort; and Tammy (Jeff) Stanislawski of Fergus Falls, MN; grandchildren:  Ryan (Barb) Boomsma; Brad (Amanda) Boomsma; Kayla (Jason) Jung; Darin Stanislawski; and Austin Stanislawski; and great-grandchildren:  Cassie (Jordan) Finck; Alexi Clement; Brodie, Blaykly, and Kayd Boomsma; and Peyton, Jaycee, Jaxon, and Kendyl Jung.  He is also survived by his siblings:  Marlin Solheim; Hans Solheim; Janet (Gene) Reich; and Janice (Robert) Patterson; as well as siblings-in-law:  Wayne (Kay) Woodfork; Loretta Johnson; Carol Woodfork; Lillian Woodfork; and Linda Woodfork.

He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Oscar and LaVerne Woodfork; sister-in-law Chick Solheim; and siblings-in-law:  Erma (Roy) Cunningham; Violet (Ed) Brockhoft; Milford Woodfork; Oscar Woodfork; Margie Sterner; Wade Woodfork; and Dale Johnson.
