Thomas Dean Brand was born on February 12, 1940, to Chauncey and Blanche Brand in Redfield, South Dakota. On July 5, 2019, he was received by God in Tacoma, Washington.
"Tommy" was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Donny and Billy and sister Linda, as well as, his loving wife Sharon (Davis) Brand.
As a young boy, Tommy did what he loved best…hunting and fishing in the Redfield area. As a young man, he served in the South Dakota National Guard before becoming a "Proud" Law Enforcement Officer. He served as an officer for the City of Doland for one year before taking a position with the City of Redfield Police Dept. which he performed for four more years. He and his wife Sharon wed on July 11, 1960. They had a son Dean and a daughter Colleen while in Redfield. In 1967, he moved the family to Longview, WA. There, Tom founded a Night Security business which he sold and became a Restaurateur. For over 30 years, he and Sharon owned and operated several restaurants.
Then in his early 60's, Tom succumbed to Alzheimer’s. On the morning of July 5, 2019, God's merciful hand removed the disease and drew him to Heaven.
Tom is survived by his children Dean (Sandy) Brand, and Colleen Brand; his precious grandchildren Travis, Nichole, Raelinda and Craig; brother Jerry (Virgie) Brand and sisters Etta Wegner and Sharon (Bob) Benning; as well as an abundance of cherished nieces and nephews.
Tom's laughter, love of card games and joy of family togetherness will be missed!
Tom will be placed to rest in Redfield, SD near his parents.
