Amy Doris Avery, 93, of Rapid City, SD and formerly of the Redfield/Tulare area, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 01, 2010 at her home.

Her funeral will be Thursday, August 5, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield.

Pastor Lorah Houser Jankord will officiate.

Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield.

Amy was born October 22, 1916, in Tulare, SD to Paul & Nellie (Dague) Tubandt. She grew up in the Tulare & Redfield area. She married Roy Avery on November 24, 1938, in Redfield and they farmed near Redfield for many years. In 1989 they moved to Rapid City.
Amy loved to cook and tend to her flowers and plants & care for her beloved little dog, Angel. Homemade bread & jelly were always on hand for her family and the many friends who always enjoyed stopping by. Until her eyesight diminished, she created many beautiful works of embroidery for family & friends.

Survivors include one daughter Doris Link, Rapid City; one son Gaylord Ralph (Mary) Avery, Rapid City; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Tubandt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy; one son, Gerald; two brothers and one sister.
