Andrew Felix, 87, of Redfield, SD died Thursday, December 31, 2009, at Golden Living Center in Redfield.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 4, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Redfield. Fr. Joji will celebrate the mass.

Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield. Visitation will be Sunday, from 2-7:00 p.m at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield.

Andrew Felix was born January 3, 1922, the first son of Frank and Carolyn (Steffan) Felix. He was raised and educated in Columbia, SD. Andy married Audrey Walton on October 25, 1944, in Columbia, SD, they had three children; a son Roger and twin daughters Rita and Ruth. Andy was drafted into the US Army on October 16, 1945. He was stationed at Fort Lewis, WA. After he was honorably discharged on August 10, 1946 he began working for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad in Redfield, SD. Andrew and his family moved to Seneca where he became the section foreman. During his 34 years with the Rail Road he had numerous moves; Tulare, Hecla and finally back to Redfield, prior to retiring in 1977. Andrew married Florence Graves on August 3, 1968, in Redfield, SD. Florence brought to this union two adult children Charlene Manz and Duane Graves. Florence died in 1982. Andrew married Delores Zens on March 5, 1985 in Redfield, SD. To this union Delores brought four adult children and their families; Deon Senn, Lucile Harvey, Roger Zens and Jim Zens. Delores died in 2007. Andrew became a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in 1985.

He is survived by his two children; Roger (Nancy) Felix of Caribou, ME; Rita (Don) Marlette of Sioux Falls, SD; six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters: Mary Webb and Amelia Slaight both of Britton, SD and Anna Marie Bailey of Claremont, SD; two brothers: Mike (Gladys) Felix of Aberdeen, SD and Frank (Doris) Felix of Arlington, SD

Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, his wives: Florence and Delores; his daughter Ruth Filipek and daughter-in-law Amanda Felix, half brothers: Steve, Wendell, Hank and John; half sisters; Lenore Freudenthal, Monica Eastburn and half brothers Toni and Louie Zohn.
