Mrs. Melvin (Angelina) Schone, 83, of Bakersfield, CA, died December 1, 2009 in Bakersfield.

Graveside rites will be 2:00 p.m.; Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Frankfort. Father William Osborn will officiate. www.thelenfuneralhome.com

Angelina was born April 9, 1926 in Iloilo City, Philippine Islands to Maximo and Benita Carpio. On May 5, 1955 she met a stunning navy gentleman by the name of Melvin Schone and he took her hand in marriage. Melvin was born and raised in Frankfort, SD and is the brother of Clyde Schone and Wilma Pageler.

Angie and Melvin later built a foundation in Carson, CA and gave birth to a healthy baby boy by the name of Anthony Schone on April 7, 1961. In 1998, Melvin and Angie decided to make a change and make their way to Bakersfield, CA to be closer to family as Angie grew ill with dementia. As the years passed and their son and granddaughters got older, Melvin continued to care for his loving wife for fourteen years until God knew her time had come.

Angie is survived by her husband Melvin of Bakersfield, CA, her son Anthony Schone of Las Vegas, NV; three granddaughters: Amanda Schone, Laura Schone and Mailee Schone and two great granddaughters: Eliana Morelos and Nevaeh Smith.
