Arlan Ray Cole was born April 2, 1990 in Huron, SD to Randy and Bonnie (Bau) Cole. He grew up on the family farm near Hitchcock with his siblings, Jordan, Kaylee, and Bailey and graduated from Hitchcock-Tulare School in 2008. He married his high school sweetheart, Trista Lea Schultz, on June 16, 2012. They welcomed their children Raya on August 27, 2013 and Hunter on October 30, 2015. Arlan's children were his everything, his world revolved around them. He often turned into a child himself when playing with Raya and Hunter. He wanted to spend time teaching his children. He really enjoyed having them with him , learning about the farm and the animals. His kids were his life and they were always with him, no matter what he was doing or where he was at.

Arlan had a passion for the farm and loved his animals. He was a very hard worker and was the first one out for chores and the last one to come in. He placed first in the state in range when he was a member of FFA. In 2006, he won the state 4-H bull riding event which was his favorite sport. He loved hunting, especially coon hunting. He was nick named "Trigger Happy" because he always had to be the first one to shoot.

He loved life and was always on the go and in everything he did he was "all in". He was a great husband, father, son, brother and friend. He was a kind, gentle soul who was always willing to help and everything he did was with a full heart.

Arlan is survived by and will be missed by his wife, Trista and their children, Raya and Hunter of Hitchcock; his parents, Randy & Bonnie Cole; his siblings: Jordan, Kaylee, and Bailey, all of Hitchcock; and his grandparents: Bertha Cole of Hitchcock, and Teresa Bau of Frankfort.
