Arlene Iona Linderman, 89, formerly of Redfield, died July 17, 2014 in Burien, WA. Funeral Services will be Friday, July 25, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Redfield Baptist Church in Redfield, SD. Pastor Ted Price and Pastor Jim Hitt will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery in Redfield. Arlene Iona Raymond was born on September 22, 1924 to Clarence and Edrie (Cartwright) Raymond at a farm south of Doland, SD. She moved with her family to Lafette, Missouri in 1932. She graduated from high school in ,Stanberry, MO, in 1942. Arlene married Dale "Bill" Hutson in 1942. They had four children. After they divorced, she moved with her children to Redfield in 1951. In 1956 she married Miles "Bill" Linderman. Together they farmed for many years, just south of the Plainview Academy. Arlene received a teaching certificate from Northern Teacher's College in 1957.

Arlene worked for thirty years, in many different areas at the South Dakota Developmental Center in Redfield. She was active in the Baptist Church, she loved to garden, crochet and quilt. She was a very good seamstress and did alterations for others. She also used to do mending for the Good Samaritan Center. She was a very good cook and loved to bake always sharing her goodies. Arlene will always be remembered for her cake decorating. She made all of her children's wedding cakes and she also baked professionally. She always worked hard and was always willing to help others.

Arlene is survived by her children: James (Nancy) Hutson of Tulare, SD, Cecil (Carol) Hutson of Seattle, WA, Dorothy Wolf of Seattle, WA and Marie Ryman of Redfield, SD. Her stepchildren: Don (Barb) Linderman of Benbrook, TX, Kenny Linderman of Kamiah, ID, Dean (Peggy) Linderman of Myrtle Creek, OR. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Tamara Gascoigne of Huron, SD, Paul (Pauline) Wolf of Alma, WA, Trisia Johnson of Burien, WA, Gloria Youngblood of Seattle, WA, Tara (Lafe Petterson) Hutson of Seattle, WA, Miles "Mike" (Lynnita) Hutson and Heather Ryman of Idaho Falls, ID; 23 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; her brothers Donald (Ann) Raymond of Stanberry, MO Cecil (Naomi) Raymond of St. Joseph MO, Tommy (JoAnn) Raymond of Napoleon, MO and a brother-in-law Bill King, Bethany, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, a step daughter Eleanor Linderman and her grandchildren: Timothy Wolf, Thomas "Jaimie" Wolf and Dale Hutson. Arlene is also preceded in death by her great grandchildren Randi Ann Wolf, Christopher Johnson, Arez Ryman and Baby Boy Johnson; a sister Wanda King and a sister-in-law Velma Raymond and a brother Ronald Raymond; along with a special friend Mike Lutter.
