Arlene C. Pollock, 83, of Sioux Falls, SD formerly of Redfield, SD, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 30, 2019, at the Good Samaritan Society - Sioux Falls Village. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Redfield, SD.  Reverend Tom Anderson will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery in Redfield.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield.  A prayer service and rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. followed by family and friends service.  Family will be present from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to accept condolences.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home.  (www.hykefuneralhome.com)

Arlene C. Pollock was born on September 9, 1935, on the family farm near Howard, SD, to Albert H. and Rachel B. (Eidsness) Patterson. She attended country school in Howard, SD.

On June 9, 1956, Arlene married Ronald W. Pollock. They started their lives together in Chamberlain, SD and eventually made their home in Redfield, SD. Together they had two children named William and Diane.

Arlene was a homemaker until 1967, when she started working as a bookkeeper at NAPA Auto Parts in Redfield.

Arlene is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ron of Sioux Falls, SD; two children: Diane (Dave) Bushong of Sioux Falls, SD; and Bill (Faith) Pollock of Maple Grove, MN; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother Einar Patterson and her parents, Albert and Rachel.
