Arthur D. Larsen, 95, of Redfield, SD died Saturday, November 21, 2015 at the Veteran's Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. His funeral will be Friday, November 27th at 2:00 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Redfield. Reverend Brian Wasmoen will officiate. Burial, with military rites, will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 9-12:30 at Thelen Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Arthur was born August 7, 1920 in Erwin, SD to Martin and Sella (Maxvold) Larsen. He attended school near Erwin and later, DeSmet High School. Art served in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant from 1943-1946. Art started working at John Deere in DeSmet while in high school. Art married Phyllis Wolkenhauer on January 21, 1945 in San Louis Obispo, CA. They moved to Redfield in 1952 and Art worked for John Deere until he retired in 1987.

Art enjoyed woodworking and made many yard decorations.

Art is survived by his son Jerry Larsen of Tea, SD; his daughters: Laurie (Mark) Bonfiglio of Nolanville, TX and Susan (Chris) Landis of Killeen, TX; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Phyllis on September 4, 2015, his daughter Linda, three sisters and two brothers.
