Bernadine F. Marlette, 81, of Redfield, SD, died Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Redfield. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Redfield. Father Gregory Frankman will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 5-7:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thelen-Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield. The family will be present during the visitation to accept condolences. www.thelen-hykefuneralhome.com

Bernadine F. Marlette was born November 5, 1934 in Redfield to Bernard & Lucy (Jungwirth) Pfister. She grew up in Redfield and graduated from Redfield High School. Bernadine married Marvin C. Marlette on May 7, 1955 in Redfield. They lived west of Redfield where they raised four boys. Over the years, Bernadine worked at Dairy Queen, REA, and was the office manager at Dakota Best.

She loved to read and play cards. She enjoyed many card parties playing whist and pinochle. Bernadine was active in her church through the Altar Society and teaching CCD.

Bernadine and Marvin attended all of their kid's sporting events and most of their grandchildren's events. Her sons have fond memories of their mother in the stands at wrestling, football, track and baseball. She had a special ability to tell which son was coming home late by the way they walked on the stairs.

Bernadine is survived by her four sons: Ricky (Patricia) of Evergreen, CO; Bill (Jan) of Sioux Falls, SD; Steve (Janet Lee) of Honolulu, HI and Randy (Jodi) of Olathe, KS; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Don Pfister of Colorado Springs, CO.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin, and her parents.
