Obituary

Bernice Adelmeyer, 99, of Redfield, SD, died Friday, May 3, 2013 at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield. Bernice was cremated and her memorial service will be Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. Pastor Peter M. Utecht will officiate. Burial will follow in the Altoona Cemetery in Hitchcock. SD. www.thelenfuneralhome.com

Bernice was born August 4, 1913 in Iowa to Herbert and Edith (Kohl) Beckler. She grew up in the Tulare area. She married William Nolte in 1936. Bernice married Melvin Adelmeyer in 1946, in Las Vegas. They lived in California for 15 years and then returned to live in Redfield. Melvin died in 1985.

She worked at the Leo's for several years. She enjoyed visiting with everyone and became a friend to everyone she met. She loved sewing, crocheting and playing cards. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and will be remembered for being a hard worker, having a kind heart and that she enjoyed helping people.

Bernice is survived by her two cousins Herb and Alice Hamilton of Wessington, SD

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Lillian Brandt.
