On November 22, 1931, Bernice Loverne Woodfork was born on a farm near Doland, SD to Oscar and Loverne (Lancaster) Woodfork.  She grew up in Doland and graduated from Doland High School.  Bernice was a cheerleader for the Doland Wheelers.  She was active in the United Methodist Church.  She held clerical positions at Northwestern Public Service in Redfield and the Frankfort Post Office.  Bernice also enjoyed life on the farm helping out wherever and whenever she could.

Bernice married Oscar Magnus Solheim on December 5, 1951, at the United Methodist Church in Doland.  They were married for 67 years before Oscar's passing in 2019.

Family was most important to Bernice.  She loved watching her children and grandchildren grow and eventually compete in their athletic events.  She also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and Timberwolves.  She had a passion for music, both singing and dancing.  Probably her favorite pastime of many years was playing cards, especially bridge.

Grateful for sharing her life are her daughters:  Sandra Solheim of Redfield; Peggy (Doug) Boomsma of Frankfort; and Tammy (Jeff) Stanislawski of Fergus Falls, MN; grandchildren:  Ryan (Barb) Boomsma; Brad (Amanda) Boomsma; Kayla Jung; Darin Stanislawski; and Austin Stanislawski; and great-grandchildren:  Cassie Finck; Brodie, Blaykly, and Kayd Boomsma; and Jaycee, Jaxon, and Kendyl Jung.  She is also survived by her sibling Wayne (Kay) Woodfork; sisters-in-law: Carol Woodfork; Lillian Woodfork; and Linda Woodfork; siblings-in-law:  Hans Solheim; Janice (Robert) Patterson; and Janet Reich; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law Leif and Jennie Solheim; sisters:  Erma (Roy) Cunningham; Violet (Ed) Brockhoft; Margie Sterner; and Loretta (Dale) Johnson; brothers:  Milford, Oscar, and Wade Woodfork; siblings-in-law:  Marlin Solheim; Chick Solheim; and Gene Reich; and great-granddaughter Alexi Clement.
