Bertice "Red" Latham, 95, of Redfield, SD, died Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Redfield. Graveside services will be Monday, March 16, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ashton Cemetery near Ashton, SD. Reverend Marty Toepke-Floyd will officiate. Bertice "Red" Latham was born February 21, 1920 in Elk Point, SD to Finis and Bunnie (Crick) Latham. He married Venoris Clausen on December 12, 1947 in Redfield. They farmed in near Mellette until 1953 when they moved to California to become a chef. Red worked at many restaurants and hotels in the Los Angeles area. He was a famed meat chef-well known for his prime rib. After he retired, they returned to Redfield in 1984.
Bertice is survived by his brother-in-law Marvin Fisher of Gadsden, AL.
He was preceded in death by his wife Venoris in 2013 and his eleven siblings.
