Bessie M. Koester, 91, of Redfield, SD, died January 25, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Redfield.

Bessie's wishes were to have no services,and to be cremated. Her ashes will be buried in the Ashton Cemetery at a later date. (www.thelenfuneralhome.com)

Bessie was born September 27, 1921, in Foley, MN to Flora Bymers. She was raised, educated and a lifelong resident of Ashton, SD. She married Duane Koester on June 8, 1943 in Redfield, SD.

Bessie is survived by three daughters: Sandy Wise of Yakima, WA; Glee Ann (Paul) Shantz of Zell, SD and Connie (David) Worth of Centennial, CO; a brother Lonnie (Debbie) Zell of Rock Rapids, IA. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Gleva (Chuck) Nighswonger of Hill City, KS.

She was preceded in death by her mother, her husband Duane in 1996; her stepfather Martin Johnson and one brother Phillip Zell.
