Clara Maxine Binger was born in Tulare, SD on March 26, 1932 to Clarence and Iona (Root) Binger. She was raised and educated in Tulare. Maxine married Leonard "Jack" Price on May 2, 1948 in Tulare and to this union, seven children were born. Jack and Maxine farmed west of Tulare in both Spink and Hand counties before moving into town in 1962. She worked at the Bowling Alley Café and Teepee Drive In.Maxine and Hugh "Doc" Boyd were united in marriage in Wisconsin on May 1, 1973, and her family welcomed his three children into this union. Maxine and Doc owned and operated "Doc's Deli and Liquor" in Williams Bay, WI before retiring and moving to Pipestone, MN. Doc passed away in 2005 and Maxine moved to Wolsey, SD in 2009 to be closer to family. In 2013, she moved to Huron where she resided until her passing.

Maxine enjoyed crocheting and helping Doc with various crafts. She was an avid Cubs and Bears fan. In fact, Maxine was known for her extensive knowledge of both baseball and football. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who followed her family and their activities closely. She also had a special bond with her dog, Lucy.
