Obituary

Carol A. Carr, 65, of Redfield, SD, died Thursday, April 21, 2011 at her home in Redfield after battling cancer. Her memorial service will be Monday, April 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at First Congregational UCC Church in Redfield. Reverend Tim Fugman will officiate. Carol was born September 19, 1945, at home, in Hazen, ND to Daniel and Verona (Buchmann) Dickhaut. Her family moved to a farm near Tolstoy before moving to Redfield. Carol graduated from Plainview Academy in 1963. She lived in San Antonio, TX and married John Troutner and they had four daughters, Tammy, Coreen, Cindy and Kim. She moved to Redfield and married Glen Carr in 1982. Carol worked at South Dakota Developmental Center-Redfield for many years until her health failed.

Carol enjoyed fishing, camping and especially spending time with her family, children and grandchildren. She also cleaned pheasants for out of state hunters every fall.

Carol is survived by her husband Glen Carr of Redfield, her daughters: Tammy Neuharth of Odebolt, IA; Coreen Wagner of Redfield, Cindy (John) Shine of Redfield, and Kim Diesterhaft of Pennsacola, FL; her grandchildren: Amber Neuharth, Eric James, Jonathon (Victoria) Shine, Tawny Wagner, Jacob and Reese Diesterhaft, Christopher Shine, Anthony Wagner and Daniel Shine. She is also survived by her father Daniel Dickhaut of Redfield, her brothers and sisters: Duane (Betty) of Piedmont, SD; Dennis (Janice) of Rockham; Mavis (Gerald) Walton of Blunt, SD; Darlene (Willis) Rothacker of Redfield; Darrell (Barb) of Redfield and Darvin (Deb) of Redfield and her brother-in-law Alan (Caroline) Jung of Roscoe, SD

She was preceded in death by her mother Verona, her sister Marlys Jung and her niece Aria.
