On Monday, December 13, 2021, Carole Mavis (Stover) Jansen of Redfield, SD passed away at the age of 82 at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield.

Following her wishes, she will be cremated and a private family service will take place at a later date at the Ashton Cemetery in Ashton, SD.

She was born to Harold and Harriet (Lenth) Stover on February 16, 1939, in Redfield.  Carole attended school in Ashton and spent much of her adult years caring for the elderly in the Redfield and Aberdeen area.  She greatly enjoyed her pets, doing crosswords, puzzles, and knitting many beautiful items.  She and her husband, RJ, ran the bar in Chelsea, SD for many years.

Carole is survived by her daughters:  Robin Brandon of Seattle, WA and Kathy Ray of Vancouver, WA; one brother Jim (Bev) Stover of Pierre, SD; and three stepsisters:  Frone Harris of Hilliard, FL, Patsy Inge of Yorktown, VA, and Dixie Nowak of Yorktown, VA.  She is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband RJ, parents Harold and Harriet, sister Marlene, and stepdaughter Margie Winegar.
