Charles "Chuck" E. Hull, 95, of Benicia, CA died peacefully in the arms of his loving wife Marge on October 7, 2013. Chuck was cremated and burial of his ashes will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Tulare Cemetery, in Tulare, SD. A memorial service will follow at 3:00p.m. at the Eastern Star Home Chapel, in Redfield, SD. His niece Reverend Leanne Thompson will officiate. www.thelenfuneralhome.com
Chuck was born June 7, 1918, in Frankfort, SD, the first of six children of Gorge and Aletta Hull. Charles attended rural schools in Spink County and graduated from Frankfort High School then attended Polytechnical Institute in Billings, MT. He returned home, working in the CCC Corps and was an early enlistee from Spink County in the United States Army Air Corps which became the United States Air Force. Charles retired with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. He was awarded the Bronze Star and had served during WWII and the Korean War.
He was married to Majorie Knox of Seattle, WA. They had one son Rano. Marjorie died in 1973, Charles then married Bobbie Skinner of Martinzez, CA. Following her death he married Marjorie Hooper of Benecia, CA.
Chuck was a member of the Community Congregational Church of Benicia, CA, lived a life of service always helping others and taking part in the prison chaplaincy program for over twenty years. Charles enjoyed many years of flying his private plane, traveling and exploring new places.
He is survived by his wife Marge of Benecia, CA; brother Gordon (Nadine) Hull of Redfield, SD and sisters: Marian Cramer of Bryant, SD; Elna (Norman) Swaney of Willis, TX and a sister-in-law Millie Hull of DeSmet, SD and a host of relatives and friends.
Chuck was preceded in death by his son Rano, his parents; two wives: Majorie and Bobbie; two brothers: Henry and Vernon.
