Obituary

Charlotte "Lottie" Alberts, 103, of Redfield, SD, died Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Golden Living Center in Redfield. Her funeral will be Monday, October 4, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Redfield. Reverend Brian Wasmoen will officiate. After a time for a coffee and cake the burial will be in the Tulare Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-8:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. www.thelenfuneralhome.com

Lottie was born May 24, 1907 in Crandon, SD to George and Rose (Schroeder) Harms Sr. She was baptized June 30, 1907 in the Lutheran Church at Tulare. Charlotte grew up and attended school in Crandon. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, confirmed on May 28, 1922. She taught Sunday school for many years in Crandon and was a member of the women's group in Crandon and Redfield. She was like a mother to her sister and brother. Lottie married Ben Frankenstein June 3, 1931 at her parent's home and they lived on a farm. Ben died in 1947 as a result of a farm accident. On November 16, 1950, Lottie married Fred Alberts and they farmed in the Tulare and Crandon area. They moved to Redfield in 1976. Fred died in 1982 and Lottie continued to live in her home until she was 101.

Lottie is survived by her sisters Martha Stellmacher and Mabel Meyer, her sister-in-law Thelma Harms and all her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by both husbands, brothers and sisters-in-law: Herman, George and Sylvia, Elmer and Sylvia and Martin, her sister and brother-in-law Ruby and Milton Kopplin, Sr., and two brothers-in-law Erick Stellmacher and Chester Meyer.
