Charlotte Louise (Hardie) Huether, 85, of Redfield, SD, passed away peacefully Friday, January 25, 2008 at Golden Living Center in Redfield.
Her funeral will be Monday, January 28, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Redfield. Reverend Brian Wasmoen will officiate.
Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery in Alpena, SD. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-8:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. www.thelenfuneralhome.com
Charlotte Louise Hardie was born March 19, 1922 to John and Willhemina "Minnie" (Neuhring) Hardie. She grew up on the family farm southwest of Redfield and attended the Hardie Country School. Charlotte graduated from Redfield High School in 1940 and attended the Aberdeen School of Commerce, and graduated in 1941.
Charlotte married Edwin Huether on April 14, 1943. They moved to Oregon in 1946, where she was a bookkeeper for a large construction company. Their daughter Sherrie was born in 1959. In 1962, they returned to Redfield to form Huether Livestock & Trucking Co. Charlotte was active in Our Savior's Lutheran Church as a Sunday school teacher. She also was a Girl Scout leader while Sherrie was growing up. Edwin died on April 14, 1993. She has been at the Golden Living Center for fourteen and a half years. Those who knew Charlotte will always remember her "wink" and contagious smile. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards and enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Sherrie (Larry) Lewis of Yankton, SD; two granddaughters: Lacey Ritter and her children: Skylor, Khloe and Braxten; Larin (Matt) Crisman and their children: Jayde, Jayce and Adryk and one grandson Bryce (Shannon) Lewis and their children: T.J., Cameron and Alesea.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edwin, one brother Ralph Hardie and one great grandson.
