Clara Irene Silver, 73, of Redfield, SD, passed away Monday, November 28, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Redfield. Her funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Thelen-Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield. Reverend Marty Toepke-Floyd will officiate. Burial of cremains will follow at approximately 4:30 p.m. at the Ipswich City Cemetery in Ipswich, SD where she will be laid to rest next to her father's grave. Clara Irene Silver was born October 17, 1943 to Charles and Bertha (Peterson) Silver in Winner, SD. Her education began in Leola, SD and her secondary education was finished in McIntosh, SD. She trained as a payroll accountant in the state of Washington. She worked as a payroll clerk for a road construction company and for a caterpillar company. Her last employment was at Disney World in Florida where she worked for 25 years. She retired and eventually moved to Redfield and then into the Golden Living Center. Clara's hobby was riding her motorcycle.

Clara is survived by her sister Leone (Del) Haux of Redfield; her brother Charles R. Silver of Cottage Grove, MN and her sister-in-law Jean (George) Silver of Hartselle, AL. Her eight nieces and nephews were important to her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her elder brother George and her grandparents: Arthur E. and Clara B. Silver and Charles and Selma Peterson.
