Clinton "Clint" Thomas Carr, 97, of Redfield, SD, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Avantara Redfield.
Visitation, with family present, will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield. A scriptural prayer service and rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Redfield with Reverend Brian Eckrich officiating. Military honors will take place outside the church after the service. Refreshments and fellowship will then follow in the church hall. Burial will be done privately at a later date.

Clinton Thomas Carr was born on the family farm near Zell, SD, on June 25, 1928, to Leslie and Ida (Heppler) Carr. Clint was the first of six children. He attended country school for a few years, and in 1936, the family moved to Redfield, where he attended and graduated from Redfield High School in 1947.
Clint joined the National Guard in 1948. He was assigned to Company "G" 196th Inf. Regiment. He was called to active duty during the Korean War and was stationed at Fort Richardson, AK. He received an honorable discharge in 1952. Clint had many stories of his time in the service that he shared with family and friends.
Clint returned home after his discharge and worked many jobs. He was a carpenter, construction worker, and had a wrecker service.
Clint married Alice June Compton on June 6, 1953, and to this union, five children were born: Thomas, Michael, Sandra, Mark, and Sonia.
Clint enjoyed collecting antiques and would attend many auctions and flea markets. He met many friends through his collecting and valued their friendships.
Clint was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church for many years. For 70 years, he was a proud member of the Clay Kiser American Legion Post #92. He also celebrated 60 years of sobriety this year. He attended meetings regularly and valued the friendships he made.
Clint is survived by his children: Thomas (JoAnne) Carr and their children: Chris Carr and Brent (Laura) Carr; Sandy (Mike) Jungwirth and their children: Amber (Jon) Saienga, David (Margaret) Jungwirth, April (Brady) Schilder, Dallas (Makayla) Jungwirth, and Alicyn (Nathan) Wager; Mark Carr and his daughter Jessica Carr; and Sonia (Kevin) Meyer and their children: Joe Meyer, Rachel (Nick) Kopplin, and Drew (Savannah) Meyer; and 28 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Frank (Sarah) Carr; sister Edith Gabriel; special friend Audrey Bond; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Michael; granddaughter Autumn Jungwirth; brother Duane Carr; sisters: Janet (James) Marsh and Joann (Mike) Huber; and brother-in-law Gerard Gabriel.
