Clyde was born on November 30, 1921, in Tulare, SD, to Clyde & Lydia (Otto) Binger. He grew up in the Tulare area where he attended school and graduated from THS in 1939. Following graduation, he remained on the family farm east of Tulare helping with the farm duties and caring for his younger siblings. Clyde Sr.'s death in 1942 put a lot of responsibility on Clyde at a young age.

On February 10, 1945, he married Irene Tollefson in Huron. They began their married life on the family homestead before moving to the Olson farm east of Tulare in 1946. In the fall of 1952, they moved to the Hitchcock area. He operated the family farm for 22 years, serving on the Altoona Township Board and a member of the Hitchcock Methodist Church. During their 40 years of marriage, Clyde and Irene enjoyed traveling, card parties, dancing, and attending the annual Corn Palace Festival with their friends.

He retired from farming in the fall of 1974 and returned "home" to Tulare. Upon his retirement from farming, he kept busy by serving on the Tulare Town Board and the Tulare Housing Authority. Clyde was proud to serve as a Spink County Commissioner for 16 years, was on the Tulare Cemetery Board for 6 years, and was a Tulare Lions member for 18 years. He was also a member of the Tulare United Church. Clyde was a true sports enthusiast and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren's Tulare sports teams. He also enjoyed the Tuesday Men's Coffee Club.

In 1988, Clyde married Lucille Robinson in Redfield, and he enjoyed the friendship of her four children and their families.

Grateful for having shared his life are his four children: Terry (LaVonne) Binger, of Clark, SD; Pam (Brian) Hull, of Tulare, SD; Dar (Harold) King of Huron, SD; and Reed (Juli) Binger, of Huron, SD; sixteen grandchildren: Cory, Kevin, & Curtis Binger; Tracey Robinson, Tony, Troy, & Travis Watson, Tiffany Poirier, & Tasha Hull; Amy Weller & Aaron Hofer; Kristen Maasen, Braden & Elysa Binger, Ryan Binger Mueller, & Ramy Boomer; twenty-four great-grandchildren: Tyler, Cortney, Emily, Gage, Cayden, Marcus, Tricia, Trevor, Payton, Neka, Trinity, Madison, Taylor, Taya, Noah, Jace, Isabelle, Jakob, Jaden, Brayden, Kyler, Kendon, Kynlea, Layton, and a new great-granddaughter in March; two brothers: Clark (Cleora) Binger and James (Audrey) Binger; brother-in-law, Iven (Lorraine) Jacobson; and several nieces and nephews.

Clyde was preceded in death by his wives Irene in 1985 and Lucille in 2008; a daughter Cheryl and son Douglas, both in infancy; grandson LeJuan Robinson; brother Raymond and sister Gladys; his best friend of 80 years, Eugene Holm; and his parents.
