Dale O. "Buck" Robinson, 67, of Redfield, SD, died Friday, April 10, 2015 at Avera St. Lukes Hospital in Aberdeen, after a brief battle with an aggressive cancer.
His funeral will be Monday, April 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Redfield. Reverend Brian Wasmoen will officiate. After the services at the church Buck's body will be cremated.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2-7:00 with the family present from 4-7:00 and with a time to share memories at 5:30 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. www.thelenfuneralhome.com
Dale was born March 16, 1948 in Redfield to Oliver and Clarice (Harmening) Robinson. He graduated from Redfield High School in 1966. After graduation, he attended South Dakota State University until he was drafted into the United States Army. After serving his country in Vietnam, where he was his platoon's go-to guy and always made sure they had communication, he returned and attended Dakota State University in Madison, SD where he graduated with a business degree in 1975. Dale married Jo Ann Nuhsbaumer on July 10, 1976 and they were blessed with one daughter. Buck started working at Spink County CO-OP in high school and continued working at South Dakota Wheat Growers in Redfield and Tulare until he retired in 2006.
Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and annual bicycling expeditions with friends. He also avidly worked through several crossword puzzles each day.
Dale is survived by his wife, Jo Ann, and their daughter, Rachel Bremer of Grand Forks, ND. He was a proud grandpa to Marren and Johannah Bremer. He is also survived by his brother, Darwin, of Fargo, ND; sisters: Carmen of Yankton, SD and Connie (John) Nyhaug of Viborg, SD; his parents-in-law Joe and Rose Nuhsbaumer, his brothers-in-law: Robert (Cindy) Nuhsbaumer of Zell and Steven (Amy), Nuhsbaumer, Zell; and his sisters-in- law: Sandra (Daryl) Schmidt of Rockham, Brenda (Jim) Kranz of Redfield, Sheila (Kevin) Bruscher of Mitchell, SD and Jeanette (Tim) Weisz of Wahpeton, ND and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Clarice and his brother, Wayne.
