Dan was born to Adam and Ruth Lydia (Ames) Jaragoske on January 8, 1945, in Redfield, SD.
Over the years, Dan was employed at Wilson Brothers Concrete, Service Motor Company, and the South Dakota Developmental Center. Dan enjoyed anything that involved the outdoors, including shooting black powder rifles and muzzle loaders, throwing tomahawks, hunting, fishing, camping with family, and socializing with anyone he crossed paths with. He was able to identify nearly every type of animal and plant species and knew the best way to cook them. His passion and endless knowledge of the outdoors, antiques, and the "wild frontier era" led many to say that he was born 100 years too late. He and his wife, Peggy (Murray), enjoyed fishing and the outdoors until their health no longer allowed them to do so.
Dan is survived by his wife Peggy of Aberdeen, SD; children: Danny Jr. Jaragoske of Brookings, SD, Adam Jaragoske of Brookings, Richard (Sara) Jaragoske of Brookings, Tanya (Kirk) Zastoupil of Aberdeen, Joe (Liz) Jaragoske of Aberdeen, and Jaimie (Tim) Reinbold of Redfield; grandchildren: Ian, Liam, Kylie, Emily, Angelina, Eryn, Addy, Laney, Mackenzie, Madison, Adam, Ari, Hannah, Shanda, Dustin; and brother Paul Jaragoske of Rapid City, SD. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Michael (Donna) Byrum of Redfield, Cindy Swaim of Yankton, SD, Barb Jaragoske-Davis of Rapid City, Jenny Jaragoske of Las Vegas, NV, and George Jaragoske of Rapid City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Annette Jaragoske-Gardin, grandparents: Charles and Sarah Ames, and Joe and Alice Jaragoske, sister Mary Swaim, and nephew David Swaim.
