Darlene R. Boub was born on May 10, 1936 at Redfield, SD to Paul and Mabel (Sievert) Hoffman. She attended Redfield School and graduated in 1954. After graduation, she went to Minneapolis to further her education to become a lab technician. She worked at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield for several years.
On August 17, 1956, she married Richard "Skip" Boub. They moved to Rapid City, SD where their only child, David, was born. In 1959 after Skip graduated from the School of Mines, they moved to Phoenix, AZ.
Family, friends and her church were very important to her. She loved music and one could always hear "easy listening" music playing on the radio in her home. She played drums in high school with the Redfield Band. At the Orangewood Presbyterian Church in Phoenix, she became the head of activities at the Beatitudes, a nursing home facility where she and fellow ladies from her church gave many years of love and enjoyment to the residents.
In 2007, she and Skip moved back to Redfield. They enjoyed reuniting with family and friends and became members of the First Congregational United Church of Christ where they were married. Due to declining health, they entered the Golden Living Center in Redfield in 2013.
Darlene is survived by her husband Skip; her grandchildren: Nicole and Kyle; her sister-in-law Fredricka "Freddie" Boub; her nieces Vicky and Joanie of Pierre, SD; her niece Charlotte Williamson of Redfield; her nephew Douglas Harvey of Clark, SD; her niece Cheryl (John) Busquaert and family of Warren, MI.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband's parents, Kenny and Helen Boub; her son David; her brother-in-law Jerry; her two sisters: Jean Harvey and Lois Kersten and two brothers: Robert and Duane.
