Obituary

Darlene F. Roach, 79, of Redfield, SD, died Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Aberdeen Health and Rehab.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Redfield. Father Christopher Hughes will celebrate the mass.

Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery.

Closed casket visitation will be Friday from 1-8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. www.thelenfuneralhome.com

Darlene was born September 30, 1931 in Orient, SD to Lester and Josephine (Danter) Pawlovich. She married Stanley Roach on February 11, 1949 in Polo, SD. To this union, five children were born. Most of their married life was spent in Redfield. Darlene was a stay at home mother, raising their family. She enjoyed gardening and landscape painting. She watched Judge Judy on television. She had a love for the little animals and made sure there was food for the birds, squirrels, rabbits and whatever might have crossed her yard.

Darlene is survived by her children: Vince (Chris) Roach of Redfield; Kim Roach of Indiana; Kia Roach of Fargo, ND; and Coby (Charlie) McCamant of Texas. She is also survived by her grandchildren Lonnie (Lisa) Roach, Landon Roach, Stanton Roach, Chase McCamant and Kyla Crawford and two great granddaughters: Brianna Crawford and Elyanna Roach. Her sisters: Beverly (Albert) Bruce of Highmore and Connie LaRoche of Albuquerque, NM and many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Leslie Wasegesic, also survive her.


She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Stanley in 2001, her son Brady, and her brother Richard.
