Darrell "Daisy" Kent, 75, of Redfield, SD, died Saturday, March 10, 2007, at the Golden Living Center in Redfield. His funeral will be Thursday, March 15, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Redfield. Reverend Stephen Perry will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Closed casket visitation will Wednesday from 1-8:00 p.m. with a Masonic service at 6:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home.


Darrell "Daisy" Kent was born December 24, 1931 in Orient, SD to Bert and Inez (Mitchell) Kent. He attended school in Orient and later the family moved to Redfield. He married Phyllis Nelson in May 24, 1950 in Redfield. Daisy worked many years as a lineman for Spink Electric Coop and the Aberdeen American News. Daisy was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Yelduz Shrine Foot Patrol. He enjoyed spending time with his much loved horses.

Daisy is survived by his wife Phyllis of Redfield, one daughter Carol Ann Hess of Spearfish, SD; and one son William F. (Cherry) of Houston, TX; two grandchildren: Stacey (Mike) Holzer of Denver, CO; and Preston (Jana) Kent of Houston, TX; and two great grandchildren Zachary and Alex Holzer of Denver, CO.
Daisy was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and five sisters.

Organist will be Janet Morrison and soloist will be Clark Lunstrum.
