Obituary

Dawn Marie Woodward, 54, of Tulare, SD, died Tuesday, September 03, 2013 at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield. Dawn was cremated and her memorial service will be Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Tulare United Church in Tulare. Pastor Lorah Houser Jankord will officiate. Cremains burial will be in St. John's Cemetery near Tulare. There will be a prayer service Friday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. www.thelenfuneralhome.com

Dawn was born April 24, 1959 in Huron, SD to Ivan and Glenda (Uttecht) Teveldal. The family moved often before settling in Tulare. Dawn started the fourth grade in Tulare and graduated from Tulare High School in 1977. Dawn and Randy Woodward were married on March 2, 1979 in Redfield. Dawn and Peg Brooker started Tulare Babysitting Service and she has been involved with daycare all her adult life. In 2000, a governor's home was moved to Tulare where the daycare service continued. Dawn was active in the Daycare business until her health caused her to take a step back. She continued to help whenever possible and gave advice if needed. She also worked part-time as a bookkeeper at Tulare Oil and nights at the Dakota Building in Redfield.

She was a member of SIS and Tulare Music Makers. She enjoyed collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia. Dawn enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren and the hundreds of kids she watched over the days and weekends for thirty years.

Dawn is survived by her husband Randy Woodward of Tulare, her daughter Kacey (Joel) Schumacher of Watertown, SD and their children: Danae, Trease and Tevan; and her son Jay T. Woodward of Tulare. She is also survived by her father Ivan Teveldal of Tulare; her brother Craig (Julie) Teveldal of Britton, SD; her sisters: Shelly (Tony) Binger of Tulare and Becky (Bill) Rernleitner of Redfield and Randy's brothers and sisters.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Kim and her mother Glenda.
