Dean Alan Baier, 31, of Redfield, SD died Monday, September 5, 2011 at his home in Redfield after a long battle with heart problems. His funeral will be Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at First Congregational UCC Church in Redfield. Reverend Tim Fugman will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield. Dean was born November 14, 1979 in Aberdeen, SD to Ozzie and Peggy (Friese) Baier. He graduated from Redfield High School in 1999. He struggled with heart issues all his life, but always kept a positive outlook on life and was an all around people person. He worked as a bartender and at Pizza Hut and One Stop throughout the years.

Dean was a member of the Redfield Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed helping others and was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan.

He enjoyed family gatherings, fishing, golfing and spending time with his girlfriend Tara and his daughter Emma and his nieces and nephews. Dean and Tara had two dogs, Dazzle and Snickers, that Dean enjoyed playing with.

Dean is survived by his parents Ozzie and Peggy Baier of Redfield, his daughter Emma, his sisters: Kristi (Jason) Fliehe of Tulare, SD; Tracy (Dave) Roberts of Redfield, SD; his girlfriend Tara Eggebraaten of Redfield. He is also survived by his niece Trajan Fliehe and his nephews: Tristin Fliehe, Tevin, Tyler and Talyn Roberts.
