Debra Kaye Woodward, 48, of Redfield, SD died Monday, February 08, 2010 at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, February 12, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Redfield. Father William Osborn will celebrate the mass. There will be a prayer service Thursday at 6:00 p.m., with Pastor Lorah Houser Jankord officiating, at Thelen Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday from 1-8:00 p.m. www.thelenfuneralhome.com
Debra was born July 14, 1961, in Mitchell, SD to Don and Patricia (Neu) Liston. She attended high school in Hitchcock and married Richard Woodward. They lived on a farm near Tulare and had three children: Aimee, Denise and Ross. She attended Presentation College in Aberdeen, earning a bachelor's degree in Nursing. She had various nursing positions at several facilities. Deb took great pride in her work, caring for others well being.
Debra loved spending time with friends and family, playing with her grandchildren: Ashtin Arthurs, Emmerie Rose Arthurs and Remmy Woodward. She also enjoyed reading.
Debra could always be counted on whenever anyone needed her. She was generous, loving and warm-hearted. She was the kind of person who could make a statement without saying a word. She was great to talk with, laugh with and is loved unconditionally.
She will be greatly missed by all. She is survived by her three children: Aimee Woodward, Denise (Landon Arthurs) Woodward and Ross Woodward all of Redfield and three grandchildren: Ashtin Kaye Arthurs, Emmerie Rose Arthurs and Remmy Steven Woodward. She is also survived by her mother Patricia Johnson of Ipswich, three sisters: Diane Johnson of Tulare, Cherie Marxsen of Columbus, NE and Michele Waldo of Ipswich and her brother, Fred Johnson of Groton and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents and her nephew Drew Daniel Kant.
