Destinee Rae Zens was born December 2, 1997 in Aberdeen, SD to Henry and Sherelle (Frericks) Zens. She grew up in Ashton, SD and attended Northwestern School in Mellette, SD. Her senior year, Destinee moved to Sioux Falls, SD where she attended Joe Foss High School. She then moved back to her hometown of Ashton where she worked for her father, mowed lawns, and babysat.

Destinee will be remembered by her family and friends for her fearlessness and her loving and outgoing personality. Often described as the "wild child", Destinee, was full of life and enjoyed being active outdoors. She loved hunting, fishing, swimming, as well as many other water activities, mudbogging, and spending time with her family and friends. Destinee loved tearing around on snowmobiles, sledding, and jet skiing. To her, the faster she could go, the better! Destinee was also incredibly artistic. She enjoyed drawing pictures and painting canvases, many of which were outdoor sceneries or western themes. Destinee's always-smiling face and love for adventure will not be forgotten.

Destinee is survived by her parents, Henry and Sherelle of Ashton; her siblings: Austin (Ashlyn O'Daniel) Zens of Ashton, Brittany Zens and her children, Stetson and Meleigha, of Ashton, and Colton (Roni Levtzow) Zens of Ashton; her paternal grandmother, Genevieve Zens of Redfield; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her yellow lab, Gunner.
