Dolores "Dee" Brown, 83, of Redfield, SD, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at the Redfield Care and Rehabilitation Center in Redfield.  Dolores' wish was to be cremated with no formal service in South Dakota.  She will be laid to rest at the family gravesite in Stantonville, TN at a later date.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home of Redfield (www.hykefuneralhome.com).

Dolores "Dee" Delene (Davis) Brown was born September 12, 1934 in Stantonville, TN to Aub Samuel Davis and Eunice (Burks) Davis.  She attended school in Selmer, TN.  She graduated from Long Beach City College, Long Beach, CA with an Associate Degree in Business Management.

On November 11, 1953, she married James Lloyd Huckabay Jr.  To this union four children were born: James Lewis, Cheryl Leigh, Joe David, and Esther Jean.

Dee worked as an Administrative Assistant for Carrier Corporation in Collierville, TN and was a purchasing agent for General Motors in Memphis, TN.  In 1974, she started working for Federal Express; retiring from there in 1993 as Manager of Procurement Administration.

Dolores enjoyed crafting and gardening, family gatherings at the river in Sugar Tree, TN and her many trips to Hawaii.

Dolores leaves behind her brothers: Marcus Davis, Stantonville, TN and Samuel (Francis) Davis, Adamsville, TN; her sister Dyann Corrigan, Brentwood, TN; and her children: James (Marleen) Huckabay, Redfield, SD, Jeannie Rutherford, Olive Branch, MS, Joe Huckabay, Memphis, TN; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dolores is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter Cheryl Brown; grandchildren: Joshua Huckabay, John Brock, Joe Huckabay Jr. and Zachary Rutherford; her sister-in-law Betty Davis; and brother-in-law Paul Corrigan.
