Donald F. Krause, 72, of Redfield, SD, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield.

Donald was cremated and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. Reverend Todd Bowers will officiate.

Burial will be in the McLaughlin United Church of Christ Cemetery at a later date.

Donald was born on February 23, 1940 to Wilmer and Helen (Bergman) Krause in Mobridge, SD. He became a resident of the South Dakota Developmental Center where he lived most of his life. For the last eleven years of his life he was a resident of the Golden Living Center.

He enjoyed a number of things in life. Don liked to sing and to take part in bowling at the nursing home. He liked to visit with people and if he had magazines to look at, he was always happy.

Donald is survived by his sister Mary Reinhart of Watertown and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
