Donna E. Hagan, 55, of Redfield, SD, died Monday, April 04, 2011 at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield. Her funeral will be Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Redfield. Reverend Brian Wasmoen will officiate. After the funeral service, Donna will be cremated and her ashes buried at a later date. Visitation will be Friday from 1-8:00 p.m. with the family present from 5-7:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home. www.thelenfuneralhome.com

Donna Elizabeth Hawkinson Hagan was taken from us early in the morning on April 4, 2011
She began her journey in life on Jan 27, 1956. Born in Lisbon, ND to Grace (Westra) and Donald Hawkinson. She grew up on her family farm near Havana, ND and attended grade school in Havana and graduated from high school in Britton, SD. She attended college in Watertown, SD and graduated from Lake Area Technical Institute with a degree in Early Childhood Development.
After college, Donna moved to Redfield and began working at the South Dakota Developmental Center. That is where she met her loving husband, Gregory D. Hagan. They married on February 14, 1978 and started a family. With two children of her own, Charles G Hagan and Rebecca K Hagan, Donna continued to display her passion and love for children by opening her house as a daycare for many kids in the community. She later returned to the South Dakota Developmental Center, where she worked for a total of 30 years.
As many know, Donna was a woman full of passion. She was a strong, devoted, caring woman and has touched many people's lives. Donna loved art, her family dump digging, canning and gardening. She was known for her generous heart. Even in her passing, she continued to give to those in need.
Donna is survived by her husband Greg Hagan of Redfield, her children Charles of Chamberlain, SD and Becky of Redfield, SD, three grandsons: Parker, Noah and Trayton, her mother Grace Hawkinson Landmark of Britton, SD; her sisters: Joy (Harvey) Metz Aberdeen, SD; and Marsha (Bob Howard) Hawkinson of Taylor, AZ; her brothers: Stephan (JoAnn) Hawkinson and Bryan (Deb) Hawkinson of Britton, SD; her stepsisters: Becky (Mike) Fogarty of Homer, NE and Pam Jenner of Volga SD; her stepbrother Todd (Denise) Landmark of Britton, SD and many extended family members.
Donna was preceded in death by her father Donald Hawkinson and stepfather Lyle Landmark.
