Donna A. Melum, 97, of Redfield died Wednesday, August 04, 2010 at the Eastern Star Home in Redfield.

Donna was cremated and a Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 17th at 3:30 p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery. Reverend Tim Fugman will officiate. (www.thelenfuneral home.com)

Donna Alice Melum was born November 26, 1912 to Guy and Alice (Whistler) Kiel in Marshall, Minn. She graduated from high school in Pipestone, Minnesota and attended college in Huron, SD. Donna married Donald Briggs Melum April 20, 1936 and the couple lived in Huron, SD, Waseca, Mankato and Duluth, Minnesota before moving to Redfield, SD in 1945.

Donna was a member of the First Congregational Church, Ruth Circle, VFW Auxiliary and was involved with Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include her Children: Jerald Melum, Burnsville, MN, Carole Melum, Solana Beach, CA and Michael Melum, Anchorage, Alaska, grandchildren: Kristen Lowe, Chaska, MN, Regina Hawkins, Abilene, TX, 4 Great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1991, her brother Robert Kiel, her sister Kathryn Terry, one granddaughter and one grandson.
