Obituary

Dorothea E. Schiesser, 81, of Aberdeen, SD and formerly of Redfield, SD, died Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at Mother Joseph Manor in Aberdeen. Her graveside service will be Friday, November 23, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery. Reverend Deb Mack will officiate.

Dorothea was born November 6, 1925 in Gulfport, MS to Albert and Dorothea (Olney) Rohlfing. She graduated from high school in Auburndale, FL in 1942. She married Theodore Schiesser in Winter Haven, FL on April 9, 1944. They moved to the family homestead near Hayes, South Dakota in 1947. Dorothea received a Bachelor of Science degree from Black Hills State College and one year at the University of Chicago at the Graduate Library School. She taught school in Deadwood, Pine Ridge, Wilmot, Java, Vivian and Mobridge. Dorothea lived at the Village Apartments in Redfield for several years.

Dorothea is survived by her three daughters: Diane (Stuart) Steinman of Omaha, NE; Barbara (LaVerne) Stephens of Redfield, SD; Robin (Donald) Lineback of Sturgis, SD; two sons: Terry (Linda) Schiesser of Billings, MT and Leonard Schiesser of Hayes, SD. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Timothy and an infant child.
