Obituary

Dorothy Mae Brueggemann, 86, of Redfield, SD, died Thursday, September 27, 2012, at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield. Her funeral will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Order Eastern Star Home in Redfield. Reverend Stephen Perry will officiate. After a time for fellowship and refreshments, burial will be in the Rockham Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from noon until 2:00 p.m. at the Eastern Star Home. Dorothy was born June 2, 1926 in Salina, KS to Ray and Marie (Hinkson) Kippel. She graduated from high school in Salina and was married and had three sons. Dorothy and her three sons lived in Kansas until 1962. On June 3, 1962 Dorothy married Lynn Brueggemann in Natoma, KS and they lived in Rockham.

Dorothy enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, making afghans and crafts. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and Methodist Women, Order of the Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Dorothy is survived by her son Russ Simon of Redfield, her granddaughter Tiffany Simon of Brooklyn Center, MN; and her sisters-in-law Myrn (Robert) Therkildsen of Redfield and Floy Conkey of St. Lawrence, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lynn and her two sons: Mitchell and Terry.
