Douglas LeRoy Henze, 65, died Sunday, July 8, 2007 at Golden Living Center in Redfield, SD.

His memorial service will be Thursday, July 12, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Golden Living Center Chapel. Lorah Houser-Jankord will officiate. www.thelenfuneralhome.com

Doug was born March 22, 1942 in Redfield to Roy and Mathilda (Hilkemier) Henze. He attended school in Tulare and graduated in 1960. Doug enjoyed hunting and his family took in hunters for many years, showing them the highlights of hunting in South Dakota. He farmed with his father and brother at Tulare and worked at the Tulare Legion Club.

His greatest joy in life was reading, from classic literature to mystery and detective novels. Doug also enjoyed the many years that he shot trap at Tulare.

Doug is survived by one brother James (Rose) Henze of Vermillion, SD; three nieces: Rhonda Hansen, Brenda (Todd) Henze-Nelson and Barbara (Richard) Wigton and one nephew Dennis (Eileen) Henze.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
