Obituary

Duane A. Wilson, 80, of Frankfort, SD died Sunday, February 25, 2007 at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield. His memorial service will be Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield, the family will be present at 4:00 p.m. Reverend Grace Rhodes will officiate. Burial of his ashes will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Frankfort at a later date.
Duane was born April 15, 1926 in Frankfort, SD to Lloyd W. and Clara (Butler) Wilson. He graduated from Frankfort High School in 1944. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. After his discharge, Duane married Maxine Levi on May 22, 1949 in Frankfort. Duane farmed all his life near Frankfort. He loved all aspects of farming and raising livestock and enjoyed watching the irrigation pivots. Duane and Maxine wintered in Apache Junction, AZ for several years. He has been at the Eastern Star home since 2005.
Duane was a member of the Frankfort United Methodist Church, Frankfort Masonic Lodge and the Frankfort Township Board.
Duane is survived by his wife Maxine of Frankfort; three sons: Dan Wilson of Frankfort; Gary (Kathryn) Wilson of Watertown; and Gene (Kaylyn) Wilson of Frankfort. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Ryan Wilson, Brooke Hanson, Blake Wilson and Ty Wilson, three great grandchildren, one brother Lloyd A. (Anita) Wilson of Mesa, AZ and one sister Eleanor Lambert of Seattle, WA.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents and his step grandson Jason Anderson.
