Eileen C. Kramer, 90, of Northville, SD, died Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Groton, SD. Her funeral will be Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church near Mansfield, SD. Reverend Bret Bierman will officiate. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield and from 9-11:00 a.m., Saturday, at the church. www.thelenfuneralhome.com
Eileen Clara Dangel was born August 4, 1923 on a farm west of Northville to William and Edna (Wood) Dangel. She grew up on the farm and attended school in Northville, graduating from Northville High School where she was active in band, orchestra and vocal music. As a teenager she was an active 4-H member. She attended Aberdeen Business College.
Eileen was united in marriage to Elmer Kramer on January 1, 1942 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Aberdeen. They shared 60 years of married life in Northville Township.
Eileen was baptized and confirmed in Trinity Lutheran Church of rural Mansfield. She held several offices in Trinity Evening Circle while a 21 year member and sang in the church choir many years. Eileen was a 4-H leader for many years. Through her patience and guidance, she taught 4-H members and her children many life skills.
Eileen was an excellent seamstress. She was a 30 year member of the Northville Extension Club.
Eileen always liked music, traveling, camping, gardening, sewing, crocheting and crafts, but most of all, her family and family gatherings.
Eileen is survived by her loving family: daughter Janet (Odean) Dickerson of Madison, SD, daughter-in-law Gail Kramer of Burnsville, MN, daughter Nadine (Charles) Sparling of Athol, SD, son Merlin (Bernadine) Kramer of Northville, SD, daughter Nora (Steven) Kramp of Brentford, SD; 16 grandchildren: (Janet's children) Alene Duff and Rita Duff (Dan Rindels); (Gail's children) Debra (Patrick) Geiger, Steven (Jessica) Kramer, Kathryn Noah Kramer, and Gregory (Sara) Kramer; (Nadine's children) Kevin (Nicole) Sparling, Kami (Chad) Fischbach, Kara Sparling, and Kris (Kayla) Sparling; (Merlin's children) Justin Kramer and Susan Kramer; (Nora's children) Audra (Robert) Heidenreich, Kristin (Kyle) Asleson, Joshua (Christina) Kramp, and Nikolaus (Krista) Kramp; 3 step-grandchildren: (Odean's children) Robert (Gail) Dickerson, Christine (Jeff) DeYoung, and Terry (Michelle) Dickerson. Eileen was also survived by 37 great-grandchildren: Carolina Spielman; Michaela Duff; Emily and Noel Geiger, Clara, Elijah and Dorothea Kramer; Lucy, Ruby, Oscar and Maggie Noah; Nia, McKennen, and Hudson Kramer; Kaitlyn, Codi, Talley and Teryn Sparling; Benjamin, Noah and Maddux Fischbach; Drew and Macy Sparling; Paige Tooker; Jacob, Elizabeth, Megan, Seth and Olivia Heidenreich; Kiana, Ian and Boedy Asleson; Jaidyn, Rylen and Karsin Kramp; Elexis and Jaxon Kramp; 5 step-great-grandchildren: Joseph Dickerson; Michael and Matthew DeYoung; and Zachary and Sarah Dickerson. Also surviving Eileen are sisters Iola Mulloy of Fair Oaks, CA and Zelda (Leland) Bain of Mentone, CA; and sister-in-law Desamore Dangel of Redfield, SD
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; husband Elmer Kramer in 2002; son Larry Kramer in 2007; brother Cyril Dangel; brother-in-law Maurice Mulloy.
