Eleanor Komraus, 78, of Rockham, SD, died Saturday, November 17, 2012 at her home. Her funeral will be Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. Reverend Stephen Perry will officiate. Burial will be in the Rockham Cemetery. Eleanor was born February 2, 1934 in Watertown, SD. At an early age, Eleanor and her family moved to Minneapolis and later to Detroit, MI. While in Detroit she worked as a secretary for S.S. Kresge, the forerunner of K-Mart. She met John in Detroit and they were married October 5, 1963. Their son Keith was born October 10, 1972. In 1974, they moved to Rockham, SD. Eleanor worked for John P. Shirk Nursing Home for a few years and South Dakota Developmental Center-Redfield for nineteen years as a switchboard operator and direct care. She retired in 2002.

She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers, baking, camping and watching QVC. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren.

Eleanor is survived by her husband, of forty-nine years, John of Rockham; her son Keith (Nikki) of Rockham and her grandchildren: Hannah, Abbey and Elliott. She is also survived by her aunt Geraldine Dring of Redfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson Kolby.
