Elizabeth "Betty" Jungwirth, 59, of Redfield, SD died Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at Mother Joseph Manor in Aberdeen, SD. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Zell. Father Christopher Hughes and Father William Osborn will celebrate the mass. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 1-8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield.
Betty was born October 19, 1947 in Redfield to Cornelius and Amanda (Lesnar) Jungwirth. She attended St. Mary's School in Zell and St. Mary's School in Aberdeen before graduating from Redfield High School in 1965. Betty worked on the family farm and enjoyed all the aspects of farm life. She loved social gatherings and spending time with her family.
Betty was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Altar Society in Zell and St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Redfield and Redfield Koinonia. Betty's faith was an important part of her life.
Betty is survived by three sisters: Virginia "Ginny" (Gary) Dietterle of Mobridge, SD; Dorothy "Dot" (Bob) Fahrni of Aberdeen, SD; and Rose Ann (Jerry) Jensen of Watertown, SD; and three brothers: John (Joyce) Jungwirth of Zell, SD; Patrick "PJ" (Julie) Jungwirth of Redfield, SD; and Philip (Laurie) Jungwirth of Farmington, MN. She is also survived by seventeen nieces and nephews, two grand nieces and one grand nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her niece Lorissa Dietterle.
