Ellen Allbee, 86, of Redfield, SD, died Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield.

Her funeral will be Friday, October 12, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. Reverend Todd Bowers will officiate. After a time for fellowship the burial will be in the Mellette Cemetery.

Ellen Arthurs was born on August 14, 1926 on the farm north and west of Mellette to James and Josephine (Wendt) Arthurs. She attended school at Mellette, then married Bud Allbee. They resided in Mellette and raised their daughter Barb. As years passed, Ellen moved to Redfield where she lived until her death.

Ellen loved to spend time with her family, especially on holidays. She loved Christmas the most, waiting to see what cards and gifts, she would receive. Ellen never forgot others on birthdays or holidays. She was very proud of her grandchildren Dana, Teresa and Canon also great grandchildren Jerry, Taylor and Kobie.

Ellen's hobbies consisted of playing bingo, word finds books and always watching the Minnesota Twins games.
