Ergeine Marion Luxton, 91, of Redfield, SD, died Monday, February 25, 2008 at Avera St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen, SD. Her funeral will be Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. Reverend Josh Hansen will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Frankfort. Ergeine was born June 7, 1916 in Larchwood, IA to Wilber and Mae (Nelsen) Wightman. Ergeine moved with her family to Sioux Falls. She married Leonard George Luxton in Redfield in 1935. In 1942, they moved to their farm near Frankfort. Leonard died in 1981 and Ergeine continued to live on the farm until moving to Redfield in 1999.

Ergeine was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers and helping out at 4-H activities. She always valued her many relatives, friends and neighbors who were so gracious, helping her out on the farm and at her house in town.

Ergeine is survived by her sons: Larry (Suni) Luxton of Ridgecrest, CA; and Gary (Kimm) Luxton of Spearfish, SD; nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leonard, two daughters: Shirley Ann Luxton and Diane Frevert, two brothers: Darrel and Harold and one sister Ruth.
