Floyd W. Rothacker, 74, of Ashton, SD, died Friday, October 08, 2010 at his home.

Floyd was cremated and will have a private family service at a later date.

Floyd was born June 22, 1936 in Harvey, ND to Herbert and Helen (Warner) Rothacker. He attended Lincoln Valley School in North Dakota. He lived in California, working in a mine, until he retired and moved to South Dakota in the 1990's. He also live in Arkansas and was a cross-country truck driver in Texas. Floyd moved to Ashton to live with his niece and nephew Sharon and Michael Rothacker. Sharon was his caregiver until the time of his death.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, visiting with friends and taking road trips.

Floyd is survived by his daughter Tamera Kay Rothacker of North Dakota, his brothers: Willis (Darlene) Rothacker of Redfield; his sisters: Jane (Gene) Folsom of Whitehouse, Texas, Marylou (Mike) Curry of Yucca Valley, CA; and Delores Minehart of Ratcliff, Arkansas, two grandsons and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers: Marv, Roger and Wesley and his twin sister Fern.
